Crews fight house fire in Springfield

An overloaded power strip is believed to have caused the fire, which is still under investigation.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Crews fought a house fire in Springfield Friday afternoon.

It happened at 28th and C streets. When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy fire at the front of the house.

Only one person was inside the home, and they made it out safely. No injuries were reported.

While the fire is under investigation, fire officials believe it is electrical in nature and connected to an overloaded power strip.
