OAKRIDGE, Ore. -- The cause of a fire at a mobile home park is under investigation in Oakridge.
The fire started at the Salmon Creek Mobile Home Park on Highway 58 at about 10 a.m. Oakridge Fire was already on a call, so Dexter Fire responded. It took firefighters about 25 minutes to arrive on scene.


Officials said the fire spread from a home to a tree, and there were several animals inside the home. A resident who tried to save the animals is now in the hospital. The family told KEZI 9 News she is in the hospital for smoke inhalation but is in stable condition.
The family also said that four kittens and at least one dog survived the fire. Other animals, including a service dog, were killed.
The firefighters put the fire out but remained in the park until about 6 p.m.
Officials said the fire marshal will investigate.
