NOTI, Ore. -- Lane County Sheriff officials say the large law enforcement presence near Noti Sunday afternoon was because they were serving a warrant.

Officials did not release the name of the suspect or what the warrant was for.

Deputies were tipped off that the suspect might be the area near milepost 39 on Highway 126 and responded, along with Eugene Police around 1:11 p.m.

Officials say the suspect was spotted across a field and authorities attempted to pursue, but lost sight of him. They continued to search for hours, but did not find him.

Contrary to comments online, SWAT teams were not present.
