CHESHIRE, Ore. – The Lane County Sheriff's Office lifted a shelter in place order just west of Chesire Tuesday evening as they continue to search for a homicide suspect.

Residents were told to shelter in place all day Tuesday and drivers were advised not to pick up any hitchhikers in the area along Highway 36, while deputies continued to search the area.

Deputies are searching for Travis Crum, 52, who is considered a suspect in a homicide. Crum is about 6 feet tall with a medium build and short gray hair. He may be wearing glasses, a red jacket, and brown pants. They believe he left the immediate area but the sheriff's office is still asking residents to be cautious. This means lock doors and reports any suspicious activity on their property.

Lane County Sheriff's Office deputies were at a property on Hall Road west of Junction City, following a call they received regarding a possible homicide.

This is a developing story.
