ROSEBUEG, Ore. -- A Douglas County judge on Monday morning ruled against a teenager accused of killing three members of his foster family.

Lawyers for Kevin Adams, 16, said his case should be tried in juvenile court. The judge disagreed, pointing out that the case was never in juvenile court, and the charges were too serious.

Adams' attorneys say they'll petition the Oregon Supreme Court to get his case moved.

Adams was arrested in November at his home near Lookingglass where his foster mother, foster sister and biological sister were found shot dead.

Officials say Adams confessed to killing the victims.

He'll be back in court in October and his trial is scheduled for February.
