Douglas County Sheriff's Office offers alert system

If you opt-in to the Douglas County Citizen Emergency Notification System, you can receive emergency alerts about evacuation notices, crime, and other local emergencies.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- Officials from the Oregon Department of Forestry said some residents may not receive calls for changes in evacuation levels if they do not have landlines.

However, they said the Douglas County Sherriff's Office has a system where you can register your cell phone for updates.
