RIDDLE, Ore. -- Deputies arrested an Azalea man after they said he led them on a nearly 30-mile chase.
They said Jacob Waylon Drusky, 43, was driving a green Ford Explorer with a flatbed trailer in tow when they attempted to pull him over on I-5 near milepost 103. Deputies said instead of pulling over, Drusky sped off and led them on a chase. The chase went for nearly 30 miles before Drusky turned around and started driving northbound.
Deputies said the chase ended when Drusky lost control trying to avoid spike strips near milepost 80. Deputies said he crashed into trees that were in the median.
Drusky was arrested after being evaluated at Mercy Medical Center. He was lodged in the Douglas County Jail for attempt to elude police by vehicle, reckless endangering, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, interfering with police officer, and obstructing governmental administration. Drusky was also arrested on two warrants issued out of Coos County.
