DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore --- Cars full of eligible seniors lined up at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Saturday for the county's first drive-through vaccination event.
According to county health officials, 800 residents were vaccinated at the event and not a single dose was wasted.
Over 50 volunteers from helped administer the doses.
The event was hosted by the county's public health department and was specifically for people 65 and older.
According to health officials, the reason they haven't been able to do a drive-through clinic like this one sooner, is because they didn't receive enough doses to put on the event until this past week.
However, they told KEZI 9 News that they are hopeful the distribution levels will continue.
