Douglas County resident dies of COVID-19

The resident traveled to Texas where they tested positive and were treated at a medical facility.

ROSEBURG, Ore. – A Douglas County resident with coronavirus died in Texas on Sunday, officials said.

Douglas County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said this is the first death of a county resident from COVID-19. Public health officials in Lubbock City, Texas, notified the county of the death on Monday.

Officials said the resident traveled to Texas where they tested positive and were treated at a medical facility.

The new case brings the county total to 66, including confirmed and presumptive cases.
