EUGENE, Ore. -- The driver in a hit-and-run crash Sunday later called and reported the crash, police say.
The crash at Roosevelt Boulevard and Chambers Street at about 1:30 p.m. sent a 22-year-old Eugene woman to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the driver, an 80-year-old Eugene man, left the scene before calling 911 to report that he may have been in a crash.
They said the motorcyclist was headed south on Chambers Street, and the man, who was driving a Buick sedan, was headed north. Police said he was turning west on Roosevelt Boulevard when he crossed into the motorcyclist's path, hitting her.
The crash caused all southbound traffic from Northwest Expressway to Roosevelt Boulevard to shut down for a few hours.
The investigation is ongoing.
