Eugene, Ore. -- Oregon football held its first fall scrimmage at Autzen Stadium on Saturday.
Senior Anthony Brown took first-team snaps as the starters, second and third-string offenses ran about 50 plays each.
Freshmen Ty Thompson, Jay Butterfield and Robby Ashford all saw game action.
The team was put in different offensive and defensive situations including red zone, end zone and two-minute drills.
The defense had the upper hand and forced a few turnovers.
Linebacker Justin Flowe was a standout performer.
The offense held its own in red zone situations with wide receiver Isaiah Brevard recording a touchdown reception.
"Offensively it felt like in the spring time it felt like the offense got the better of the defense," head coach Mario Cristobal said. "Today early on the defense showed up big. After that, playing situational football, the offense did well in the red zone, did well at the goal line. Two-minute drill a couple guys stepped in and made some really big plays. Overall a lot of good film to learn off of. Week one of camp is in the books. Got to get ready for week two."
The Ducks will now review film before practice next week.
Oregon's season opener is at home on September 4 against Fresno State.
