EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene police have made an arrest and reopened streets near West 7th Avenue and Tyler Street in Eugene following a lengthy negotiation with a man inside a vehicle.
The Eugene SWAT finally blocked in the man’s car and punched out his rear window. They were then able to get the man out of his car and arrest him.


No one was injured in the incident and streets in the area reopened at about noon. Streets in the area were closed at about 9 a.m. while police negotiated with the man.
In addition to West 7th Avenue and Tyler Street, the area of West 7th Avenue and Polk Street was also blocked off.
Police command vehicles were in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge at 1190 West Sixth Avenue during the incident.
At least 11 police vehicles and two motorcycle officers were in the area assisting with the situation.
