EUGENE, Ore. -- The day after several EPUD customers demanded the removal of the tiered system, a utility company announced it will be analyzing the impact it has had on customers.

The Emerald People's Utility District posted on their website that they will be meeting to discuss the issue in March.

They said the Citizen Advisory Committee on Financial Rates will examine customer bills and usage levels, review customer feedback and discuss the rate structure before presenting a recommendation to the Board of Directors.

The public meeting will take place at 5:30 pm on March 20 at the EPUD office on Seavey Loop. A second meeting will be held on March 22 if needed.

If you are unable to attend, you can still give feedback online until March 13. Click here to submit your comments.

As for now, EPUD General Manager Scott Coe said they will waive all late fees for December and January and enroll customers in their Equal Pay program retroactively to lower their balances. To be enrolled in the Equal Pay program customers will need to contact EPUD.
