EUGENE, Ore. -- To help customers upgrade to clean, efficient electric power, the Eugene Water, and Electric Board is offering additional incentives.
EWEB is offering an additional $350 to convert existing natural gas or oil burning systems to an energy-efficient heat pump or heat pump water heater system.
The Good Earth Home, Garden & Living Show takes place at the Lane Events Center and runs Friday, Jan. 19 through Jan. 21.
The company already offers a $650 incentive for customers who install a ductless heat pump, and $1,000 for a ducted system.
"Here in Eugene, we are fortunate to have one of the cleanest power portfolios in the nation, with almost no electricity generated from fossil fuels," said Joe Harwood, with EWEB.
He said 80 percent of Eugene's power comes from carbon-free hydroelectric energy and going fossil-free is one way residents can meet the community reduction goals.
EWEB experts will be at the Good Earth Home, Garden & Living Show to answer questions and tell visitors about the other ways to save energy and save money.
