LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- Eleven hundred doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be given out to 11 Bi-Mart locations across Lane County.
This comes out of the 2,000 Johnson & Johnson doses the county expects to receive Wednesday.
An additional 100 doses will be given to 18 pharmacies in Lane County, such as Albertson’s Safeway, Health Mart and Costco -- that’s 1,800 doses. They’re all part of the county’s Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.
If you want to get vaccinated, you need to register with Lane County Public Health. Look for the "Vaccine Pre-registration" button. From there you will be asked a series of questions, which will get you registered. Then, you will need to wait to be contacted when it’s your turn, and the county will tell you where to get your shot.
One Eugene resident wanted to know what steps should be taken to free up a spot if you received a dose from a local pharmacy and still received another invite.
While there are wait lists, Lane County Public Health officials said that the county would appreciate an email if you have already received your vaccine elsewhere.
“I just really want to encourage others getting that invite if we can take ourselves off the list in a simple way without causing more bureaucratic roadblocks -- it would be wonderful for all of us who have got the vaccine through another program,” Eugene resident Helen Jackson said.
She said she is grateful for the opportunity to get a shot but knows there are still many out there who need to get one.
