EUGENE, Ore. – A Labor Day tradition continued on Monday in the Whiteaker neighborhood to raise money for Head Start Lane County.
The Eugene Brews Cruise 5K brings together racers from across the community. They all lined up in front of the old Whiteaker School on Grant Street and ran at staggered start times based on pace.
“Fortunately we were able to do it again this year,” said race director James Houghton. “It’s the eighth annual event and typically has about twice as many people. It’s a bit less this year, but it’s great that we’re able to do it on Labor Day again.”
They ran a route along the banks of the Willamette River and through the Delta Ponds area.
