In January Dwyer was arrested and accused of disorderly conduct and menacing with a gun at the Buy 2 store in Eugene. He now says that incident was a mistake.

In his statement Dwyer said that he now has a unique view of how the justice system works.

Dwyer went on to say: “As stated before I am a not a politician, I am a student, I am a worker, I am a human being that sometimes makes mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes in life, taking ownership of these mistakes and learning from them is important. I hope that the voters of Ward 1 will vote for a councilor who is truly a man of the people.”

The primary election for Eugene City Council is on May 19.
