EUGENE, Ore.-- The eugene mission is in need of disposable diapers for the young children currently there.

The average child can go through 10 diapers per day. They're not covered under assistance programs here in Eugene, according to mission staff.

Employees say diapers are always needed, however the mission has recently seen more two and three year olds. As a result, the supply is low.

The director of women's services says people tend to think of babies when donating diapers - but forget about older children who need them too.

She says if mothers don't have clean diapers, it can put children's health at risk.

Staff hopes the holiday season will encourage people to give back.

To donate you can visit the eugene mission on West 1st ave from 8-4, Monday through Friday.
