Eugene Police investigating after shots fired downtown

Eugene Police are investigating reports of shots fired downtown late Thursday night.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Eugene Police are investigating reports of shots fired downtown late Thursday night.

Officers responded to the area of 8th Avenue and Olive Street at 11:48 p.m. When they arrived, they discovered bullet holes in potted plants and structures and two nearby vehicles but did not find any casings.

Witnessed reported seeing multiple cars heading southbound from the area, leading police to believe the shooter may have been in a vehicle. At this time, there are no reports of injuries.

Police said they are continuing to investigate and interview witnesses. No suspect has been named. Some users on social media reported that bars in the area went into lockdown following the gunshots.
