Eugene Police make 24th arrest related to May riot

A man was arrested Friday for entering a building that was being looted during a May riot in Eugene, police said.

EUGENE, Ore. -- A man was arrested Friday for reportedly entering a building that was being looted during a May riot in Eugene, police said.

Travis Francis Lopez Hart, 40, was arrested on Friday at 8:37 p.m. and charged with second-degree criminal trespass.

Eugene Police said Hart entered the Starbucks on West 7th Avenue as demonstrators looted the business on the night of May 29, 2020. However, there was no evidence that he stole or damaged any property. 

Officials said that Hart is the 24th person arrested in connection with the riot. In August, officials said that they were investigating more than 60 suspects. Detectives are still accepting tips, photos and videos from the incident. The tip line is 541-262-5388.
