EUGENE, Ore. --- The Eugene City Council is scheduled to meet on Wednesday to discuss the redevelopment of the building at 1059 Willamette Street into a mixed-income apartment.
Amanda D’Souza is a business development analyst with the city. She said the council plans to review the previously proposed terms and possibly make a decision.
D’Souza said there's a good chance this will pass, and that it will bring some life back to the area.
“One of the best ways to kind of bring up the livability of downtown and the vitality is just to have people living downtown,” she said. “Everyone knows that we're in a housing crisis. so we're really looking at this as a pilot project.”
She said there is not a specific timeline on when they will start the construction process.
The meeting will start at noon Wednesday.
