EUGENE, Ore. -- A downtown convenience store was robbed on Wednesday night, adding to a long list of crimes that have seized the city in recent months.

Police say it happened around 9 p.m. at the Buy 2 at Broadway and Olive.

An officer on the scene tells KEZI 9 News that a suspect was arrested a few blocks away.

It's unclear at this time whether the man had a weapon.

KEZI 9 News spoke with an employee next door who says she's noticed crime is on the rise downtown.

"I feel like people are starting to see that they can just kinda get away with stuff down here," Sarah Williams, a budtender at Flower of Life Dispensary, said. "Not just in terms of robberies, but our transient population definitely is getting more bold."
