Eugene couple stranded on cruise ship in South America

Donna and Jim Anderson are traveling on a cruise ship as the coronavirus outbreak unfolds.

EUGENE, Ore. – A couple from Eugene is traveling abroad on the Holland America Line cruise ship Zaandam near Chile. Friday, they spoke to KEZI 9 News about their ordeal trying to get back home.

Donna and Jim Anderson are being impacted by the travel restrictions put into place by the COVID-19 outbreak. 

Donna Anderson said no one can get off the ship, which was supposed to make it's way to Valparaíso, and there has been no word on where they will go next. 

Anderson said a health check was done and as far as she knows, no one was found to be sick with COVID-19 on board.
