EUGENE, Ore. -- The Eugene Public Library will open its doors Monday for the first time since the pandemic began.

The library will have expanded services for those who may not have easy access to the library online. Computers with internet access will be available as well as counter service to pick up books and other items. However, visitors will not be able to browse the shelves.

Eugene resident Cathy Ellis said she is happy the library will be back open for the community.

"It's a great resource, and it's easier for me in person than online," Ellis said. "So I've certainly missed them the last six months now. But it's a great resource for people of all types."

Face masks and social distancing will be required. The downtown location will be open Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will also be open Wednesday and Thursday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Sheldon and Bethel branches will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
