LINCOLN COUNTY, Ore. – A single vehicle crash on Highway 20 in Lincoln County killed one Eugene man and injured another Wednesday afternoon.
A truck operated by Patrick Goddard, 23, of Eugene was eastbound on Highway 20 at Elk City Road, when it left the road, went through a guardrail and landed upside down in a nearby waterway. Goddard died in the crash.
A passenger, Jason Landry, 42, of Eugene, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis with unknown injuries.
The crash happened at 3:12 p.m. Goddard was driving a Freightliner utility truck, authorities said.
The crash was investigated by Oregon State Police, who was assisted by Lincoln Sheriff’s Office, Toledo Police Department and Toledo Fire Department.
