Eugene man killed in Linn County crash

The crash happened near Sweet Home.

SWEET HOME, Ore. – A Eugene man is dead after his car veered into traffic on Highway 20, Oregon State Police said.

Troopers and emergency personnel responded to milepost 25 just before 8 a.m. on Friday.

Investigators said Kenith Laster III, 27, was driving a Honda Prelude west when he lost control and hit an oncoming Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by Mitch Carter, 30, of Sweet Home.

Laster was pronounced dead and Carter was taken to the hospital.

Sweet Home fire and police departments assisted, as well as the Oregon Department of Transportation.
