EUGENE, Ore. – Several police cars surrounded a Eugene hotel, following reports of shots fired.
Eugene police responded to the Hyatt Place on Oakway at around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Witnesses said they heard a loud noise and saw some suspicious activity. Officers went to sixth floor on the southeast corner of the hotel. Once police said they got inside and checked the rooms, both were empty.
Regardless, police said they were ready for whatever might have been behind those doors.
“Anytime that there are shots being fired and information that is provided by witnesses we're going to take that very serious,” said Lt. Chuck Salsbury with Eugene police. “It's a safety thing for both citizens that are in the area, people that are in the hotel, and the officers that are responding."
Officers said no one was injured and no shots were fired.
