EUGENE, Ore.--The reports of a standoff on River Road were false, according to Eugene Police.
At about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Eugene Police received a report that a man was holding another man at gunpoint within a house near the corner of Rosewood and River Road.
Eugene Police Department units got to the home with an armored vehicle and a crisis negotiator, only to learn the call had come from another address on nearby Corliss Lane.
Police verified that the Corliss Lane caller had fabricated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing and will likely result in charges against the caller.
