EUGENE, Ore. -- The popular HiFi Music Hall off of 7th Avenue in downtown Eugene is closing for the next three months so the new ownership can apply for a new liquor license.
Danny Kime, the current owner of HiFi told KEZI they plan on making some upgrades and doing some remodeling to their business.
He said they also plan on building a speakeasy bar in the back of the building. Kime said they can operate for a total of seven days during the temporary closure, so they will be able to keep the main hall shows that are scheduled.
"It's exciting that we're still here,” said Kime. “We gambled that this music venue would work downtown and it's a good time in downtown Eugene and it's exciting for the community that a place like this can exist and be sustainable."
The last day they'll be open before their temporary closure is Wednesday, December 12th.
