Evacuation level reduced for some near McKenzie Bridge

Evacuation levels have been downgraded for some residents near McKenzie Bridge.

MCKENZIE BRIDGE, Ore. – Evacuation levels have been downgraded for some residents near McKenzie Bridge.

Lane County officials said the area that has been reduced from Level 3 to Level 2 includes: McKenzie River Drive east of the Community Center and Highway 126 east of Harbick’s Inn at milepost 47.

Level 3 remains in effect for East and West King Road, Caddis Lane, Mill Creek north of Highway 126, Highway 126 west of Harbick’s Inn and McKenzie River Drive west of the Community Center.

Officials warn that fire danger remains high, even in areas that have been reduced to Level 2. Residents will be allowed to access the area so they can make additional preparations for their homes, livestock or other animals. If fire behavior increases, residents should be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice.
