PLEASANT HILL, Ore -- Several fire crews were called out Monday morning to the 36,000 block of Valley Road in Pleasant Hill.

A call came in around 4 a.m. of a house fire but crews discovered it was at a business called Tannerite. The company makes exploding rifle targets.

Neighbors confirmed with KEZI 9 News that multiple explosives were going off.

"Because of the nature of this location and the products that are on scene the fire crews are cautiously approaching this firefight. This has been a defensive fight so they've been using water and keeping it separate from the houses," said Chief Andrew Smith from the Pleasant Hill-Goshen Fire District.

As of 5:15 a.m., firefighters were able to get the fire under control. They are mopping up hot spots. They also say they do not believe anyone was inside the home. No one was injured.
