Family escapes mobile home fire in Eugene

One of the family's cats was also rescued.

EUGENE, Ore. -- A fire broke out in a mobile home at Orchard Point Park Thursday morning.

Lane County Fire Authority told KEZI 9 News it happened just before 10 a.m.

Officials said a family of three was able to make it out safely, and they were able to rescue one of their cats. Firefighters used an oxygen mask specially designed for pets once the cat was out of the home.

The home is a complete loss. The cause is under investigation.
