Family's memorabilia of dead veteran stolen in burglary

EUGENE, Ore. – A burglar got away with a family’s memorabilia of a dead military veteran in Eugene.

Police said they learned of a burglary in the garage unit area of an apartment in the 4100 block of Aerial Way on Saturday. They said it happened between June 30 and 3 p.m. on July 4, when the victim learned a suspect had tampered with the lock.

Contact authorities if you see anyone attempting to show, display or sell what appears to be the following items:

"Two plastic military style cases, several military uniforms (including woodland and desert camouflage), combat boots, gas mask, hats and a flak jacket. The cases also contained military awards, letter from deployment, plaques, flags, and framed photographs, including photograph of victim’s father with former President George W. Bush."
