WINSTON, Ore. -- Douglas County deputies say speed was a factor in a crash that started a grass fire and left one person dead.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 5000 block of Wills Creek Road in Winston.

Deputies say a pickup was traveling northeast when it left the roadway and struck a tree in a small ravine. The truck was engulfed in flames which started a small grass fire.
