EUGENE, Ore. – Two nonprofits are about to get a huge grant to go green with EWEB’s Greenpower Program.

It’s a chance for schools, nonprofits and other government entities to invest in renewable energy projects or adopt new technology to reduce the carbon footprint on our community.

The program has given out more than $1 million to 19 nonprofits since 2009.

This year, the five finalists are the Eugene Science Center, the Eugene Waldorf School, Friends of Trees, the Pearl Buck Center and St. Vincent de Paul.

Starting Monday, EWEB Greenpower customers can vote on their favorite projects from the organizations. The top two or three will win a grant of up to $50,000.

Voting is only open to Greenpower customers. To sign up for the program and learn more about the projects, click here.
