YONCALLA, Ore. -- Hay equipment might be the reason for a natural cover fire near Scotts Valley Road that burned just over an acre of land and damaged a hay bailer.
Firefighters from the Douglas County Forest Protective Association responded to the fire Sunday afternoon four miles east of Yoncalla.
Crews arrived on scene shortly after 2:45 p.m. and reported a grass fire burning in a cut hay field moving at a moderate speed.
Firefighters were able to quickly suppress the fire and remained on scene until 4 p.m. mopping up hot spots and securing control lines.
