Firefighters battled three fires in Douglas County

DPFA and local fire departments responded to three different fires Saturday.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore.--- Douglas County Forest Protective Association and other local fire departments battled three different fires Saturday.

The first fire was a grass fire just after noon two miles west of Glide near the 2000 block of Wild River Drive. Officials said the fire spread to about 1/10 of an acre and was the result of an escaped burned barrel.

Officials said the person responsible was issued a citation.

Another fire was reported just northwest of Winston, near the intersection of Flournoy Valley Road and Sunrise Lane. Officials said this fire was cause by a tree into the power lines. 

At approximately 4:35 p-m, there was another fire on I-5 milepost 112. Officials said the fire was about an acre in size. The cause of this fire is under investigation.
