EUGENE, Ore. – Firefighters are at the scene of a structure fire in an industrial area of west Eugene.

The fire broke out just after 1 p.m. on Thursday in a building in the 200 block of Wallis Street.

No one was injured in the fire, but a firefighter on scene said the building appears to be a total loss.

When firefighters arrived the people inside the building had already exited and flames were coming from the roof. After determining no one remained inside, firefighters began a defensive strategy to make sure the fire did not spread.

The building housed commercial warehouse space as well as residential apartments.

This is a developing story.
