EUGENE, Ore. -- Eugene Springfield Fire were dispatched to a house fire on West Amazon Drive in Eugene Wednesday night just after 11 p.m.
They arrived within five minutes and began to attack the fire.
When firefighters arrived to the house fire, they saw the flames had spread to a nearby home. Power lines had also collapsed, and crews with the Eugene Water and Electric Board were dispatched.
Fire officials said residents from both homes made it out safely, but one was injured. A dog was also rescued from the fire, but three cats remain missing. The American Red Cross is helping the people that were displaced by the fire.
Crews battled the flames into early Thursday morning and extinguished the flames around 2 a.m.
Fire officials said several fire crews and two fire marshals stayed at the scene overnight to monitor flare ups and continue investigating the cause and damages of the fire.
Homeowners believe the fire started somewhere outside the home.
