Man accused of shooting brother twice in Florence

The man turned himself in to Florence police the day after the shooting, authorities said.

FLORENCE, Ore. – A man is expected to survive after police said his brother shot him twice.

Florence officers and state troopers responded to a home in the 2100 block of 52nd Street at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Authorities said they discovered that Seth Wells, 20, shot his brother with a .22 rifle and left the scene. The victim was taken to Peace Harbor Hospital.

Officers searched the area for Wells but were unable to find him.

At about 4:20 the next morning, police said Wells turned himself in to Florence police. He was arrested and taken to the Florence City Jail before being transported to Lane County Adult Corrections.

Wells faces charges of first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
