LINN COUNTY, Ore. – A Florida man has been charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants after a police chase in Linn County last week.
It happened at Diamond Hill and Powerline roads near Harrisburg on July 17.
Andrew Haddad, 24, was taken the Lane County Jail but has since been released on bail.
Oregon State Police troopers said he was driving on Interstate 5 when authorities tried to stop him from speeding. He headed southbound to exit 209, where a trooper used a spike strip and hit all four tires of the car on Diamond Hill Road.
A Lane County deputy tried to talk Haddad out of the car but eventually used pepper spray.
