ALBANY, Ore. – Following the recent death of longtime Linn County commissioner John Lindsey, the board has selected someone to fill the vacant seat.

Former commissioner Will Tucker will be returning after a short hiatus to fill the seat for the two years remaining of Lindsey’s term. He did not run for reelection in November due to concern about a family member’s health.

“I am proud and honored to be selected,” Tucker said. “It is bittersweet to replace John, but it is something I love doing and I’m excited about doing more of it.”

He is expected to take the oath of office on Wednesday.

Lindsey died of cancer on March 9.
