MONROE, Ore. – A jury has found a former firefighter not guilty of sexually abusing a teenager in Benton County.
Jose Villa-Garcia was accused of sexually abusing the girl while she was taking part in a program at the Monroe Fire Station in 2016.
On Wednesday, a jury acquitted him of all three counts of sex abuse.
A $3.5 million lawsuit filed against the fire department in December 2017 claims the department knew about the allegations but didn’t investigate.
That case is scheduled to go to trial in May 2019.
