EUGENE, Ore, -- A somber gathering took place Saturday night, to remember former University of Oregon football player Fotu Leiato.
He was killed in a tragic rollover crash near Autzen Stadium Friday morning.

Leiato had just finished his junior year at the University of Oregon.
Oregon Athletic Director Rob Mullens and Head Football Coach Mario Cristobal released the following statement: “We are saddened to learn of the passing of Fotu, and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.”
Several people in the neighborhood are still morning, in shock and disbelief over what happened. One person who was friends with both Pedro Chavarin Junior (driver of the car) and Fotu Leiato told KEZI 9 News, they were both close friends. He wants to emphasize Leiato was close to Chavarin, and not to pass judgment on Pedro until the full investigation has concluded.
"In no way is Dro (Pedro Chavarin Junior) as bad as a guy as people are saying," said UO Student Isaac Gillard "He had a lot of love for Fotu and before all the details are out I don't think anybody should jump to conclusions and make their own opinions before the facts are really out there.
