EUGENE, Ore. -- A fundraiser will help a Harrisburg teenager who lost his leg last month.

Linn County deputies said Jared Jones was drunk when he hit Jimmy Holland while Holland was parked on the side of the road in December. The fundraiser will help Holland and his family pay medical bills racked up during the life-saving surgeries.

Holland's great grandmother said Holland has a long road to recovery with physical therapy and possibly more surgeries.

She said Holland has managed to keep his sense of humor, but he'll need all the support he can get.

"All we can do is pray for him and hope for the best, and hope people do come out and contribute," Ginny Long said. "I doubt there's enough money that will ever cover the hospital bill."

Papa’s Pizza is holding a fundraiser on Thursday, Jan. 10.

Fifty percent of all sales will go to Holland’s medical fund.

It’s happening all day at the stores on West Eleventh and Coburg Road in Eugene, as well as Main Street in Springfield. Make sure to bring a copy of the flier.

You can also make a donation at Key Bank.

On Monday, the 99 Grill in Harrisburg is holding a fundraiser all day, and a third of their proceeds will go to the family.
