SALEM, Ore. -- Gov. Kate Brown held a press conference Wednesday, announcing the details of a new mask requirement for the state.

Starting this Friday, masks will be required in all indoor public spaces.

Brown said this comes amid a surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations due to the Delta variant, which "has changed everything."

Modeling suggests if no action is taken, hospital capacity will be overrun, which puts everyone at risk, including people suffering from heart attacks, strokes, and more.
