Grass fire burns 10 acres near Drain

A grass fire is now in the process of being mopped up near Drain.

DRAIN, Ore. – A grass fire is now in the process of being mopped up near Drain, according to Kyle Reed with the Douglas Forest Protective Association.

The fire sparked up around noon on Saturday west of Drain off Putnam Valley Road. Reed said it grew to 10 acres. No structures were threatened. They said the fire was partially stopped when it came up against a road.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
