SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- The city of Springfield is looking for donors to help light up the downtown area.

This is a part of Springfield’s helping light downtown donor program. Businesses and community members can donate $500 to cover the maintenance and operation costs of the street lights for as long as they last.

The lights are reused and repurposed from San Diego. They use LED’s that cut back on energy use and they cost less to maintain.

The street lights should last at least 14 years.

Donors will receive a plaque to put on a street light of their choosing. Click here for more information.
