COOS BAY, Ore. -- Thousands of people lost power Friday in Coos and Douglas counties as high winds swept the region.
A high wind advisory is in place and will be in effect until 1 p.m., the National Weather Service said. Winds are blowing 40 to 45 mph in a south to southwest direction with gusts up to 75 mph.
In total, nearly 4,000 people are being affected in Coos County, according to Pacific Power’s website.
In Douglas County, almost 10,000 people are without power.
In Linn County, more than 1,000 are being affected.
