Highway 126 tree removal safety project begins

Drivers should expect delays.

FLORENCE, Ore. – Oregon Department of Transportation crews will be removing trees starting Monday on Highway 126 from milepost 20 to 22, and drivers should expect delays.

Crews will be working from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for two weeks starting April 20.

One lane will be open and flaggers will be controlling two-way traffic.

According to ODOT the tree removal is being done to enhance safety for drivers one mile east of the tunnel.
